Hi, my name is Pam Doerksen. And my name is Pam Doerksen. What?? That’s right, Tiny TreeHugger started out with two Pams. Both with the same name [no relation, though]. So, the first two years of Tiny TreeHugger’s existence consisted of us referring to ourselves as Pam J and Pam C, which are our middle initials. But our names aren’t the only thing we had in common. We both had [and still have] a love of cloth diapers, and decreasing our carbon footprint on the Earth. After much dreaming, and many work/play dates [work for us, play for our kids!], in spring of 2009 we were pleased to bring you Tiny TreeHugger. It stemmed from a dream and now is carried on by Pam J. We hope you find the products you are looking for, as well as the support you need as a cloth-diapering parent. Thanks for stopping by!
All About Pam J
I am a mom to three boys – a hat trick, and another on the way in July 2011! [In hockey terms, that would be a full line. Yes my family is hard core hockey fans!] The youngest two, I have cloth diapered and am looking forward to diapering a newborn again soon. I came across cloth while pregnant with my 2nd boy in 2006 at a baby show, where a demonstrator was doing her spiel on how easy, great and cheap it was to do. It still didn’t convince me. In my mind, I was still thinking pins and plastic pants. Really? NO THANKS! – were my initial thoughts. It wasn’t until I was in my last trimester of pregnancy, four years ago now, that I started looking into it more and realized there was a lot more modern options, like snaps and Velcro, even something called pocket diapers! WOW
To be honest, I was overwhelmed by all the information but quickly found quite a few moms around that had experience with cloth diapering and were so helpful! I ordered my first sample pack with 5 different kinds of pocket diapers, and also a prefold package that included covers and a Snappi. I knew that newborns went through a lot of diapers and was prepared to give them a try!
The rest, as they say, is history. My curiosity turned into a love for cloth, which influenced friends to try it, and is now being turned into this business where I can share it with more than just immediate friends - people like you! And as you can tell, it is not just about cloth diapers, we also offer baby carriers, natural laundry options, local handmade items and many other greats finds that we think you will love [because we do too!]
I really hope that you can find what you are looking for on our website. And if not, email me and we will see what we can do! We aim to please our customers and want you to keep coming back and also tell your friends about us!
